My Menu

I work on a 3-week planner to enable children to have a varied diet and encourage fussy eaters.

Week 1

Monday

Tuesday

Wednesday

Friday

Breakfasts:
1. A variety of low sugar/high fibre cereals i.e. Branflakes, shreddies, Weetabix or Porridge with a little honey and banana and a little glass of fresh orange juice
or
2. Fresh fruit smoothie (raspberry or strawberry or blueberry) natural yogurt, banana and orange juice.
Whichever of the above is offered it will be accompanied with wholemeal toast and butter.

Lunches
(all bread, rolls, wraps and pitta are wholemeal).

Pitta, humus
Grated carrot and apple

Ham wrap
Orange pepper and cucumber

Sliced egg sandwich
Shredded lettuce and grapes

Spaghetti hoops on toast
Pear and Banana

Tuna roll
Cucumber and apple

Dinner

Spaghetti bolognaise

Chicken stir fry

Sausage, mash, peas and gravy     

Tuna pasta roasted tomatoes and garlic

Salmon and broccoli

Week 2

 

Breakfast - as week one

Lunches

Beans on toast
Grapes and cucumber

Egg mayo roll
Tomatoes and grated carrot

Chicken Wrap
Tomatoes and cucumber

Grated cheese sandwich
Cucumber and apple

Tuna toasted sandwich
Sweetcorn and cucumber

Dinner

Lasagne

Shepherd's Pie, carrots

Pasta with homemade tomato sauce and grated cheese

Chicken and vegetable casserole and rice

Fish pie and vegetables

Week 3

 

Breakfast - as week one

Lunches

Scrambled egg on toast
Grapes and Banana

Cream cheese sandwich
Apple and grapes

Ham in pitta
Tomatoes and orange pepper

Chicken roll
Satsuma and banana

Tuna wrap
Sweetcorn and banana

Dinner

Roast chicken, Yorkshire pudding, broccoli and roast potatoes

Beef stew, mash and carrots

Creamy chicken pasta and spinach

Homemade pizzas

Fish goujons and homemade chips and peas

 

Notes:
Each lunch is followed by yogurt

All dinners are followed by fruit and a biscuit or piece of homemade cake

Snacks mid morning and mid afternoon are always fruit

Water and milk are offered at all meal and snack times

Water is readily available all through the day

Weaning menu/pureed fresh food can be offered also

I’m not an advocate on sugary treats in between meals whatsoever but I do feel dessert treats are fine but I am happy to discuss.

I will ensure children in my care have a least five a day of their fruit and veg with me, and all produce will be fresh and of a high quality.
